OBITUARY: The Hustler, Fri 2 Dec 1921; The Sioux City Journal of25 Nov contained the following: Injuries sustained when he jumpedfrom a city street flusher to avoid injury in Feb 1921, caused thedeath of Delos R. Lytle, 1717 Ingleside Ave, in a hospital. He was52 years old. Mr. Lytle was employed as garage man for the cityfor a number of years. The accident occurred while Mr. Lytle wasworking on the flusher. The water gauge on the sprinkles failed towork and the tank burst. As the tank collapsed, Mr. Lytle jumpedto the pavement, injuring his spine. Ten weeks ago he was takenfrom his home to a hospital where he continued to grow graduallyweaker until his death. In addition to his wife he is survived byfour sons, Vernon, Ward, Leon and Russell, and one daughter,Margaret Lytle, all of Sioux City. Funeral and interment at SiouxCity. Delos will be remembered as an old Little Sioux boy, leavinghere with his family some years ago.
