George had arrived in New England in 1634. George and Mary HazardLawton resided in Portsmouth, RI., and on April 30, 1639, had been oneof the "incorporators" of that community. In 1648 he was a member ofthe Court of Trials, and in 1665, '72, '75, '76-'79 and '80 was adeputy to the Assembly. He was buried in his orchard at Portsmouth,RI.
