CHURCH AFFILIATION:John B. Lytle was baptized a member of the RLDS
church on 10 June 1860 at Little Sioux, Harrison (Belvidere, Monona) IA by
John Thomas. He was confirmed by Outhouse and Thomas.
PARENTAGE: probably son of Hugh and Christina Lytle. Hugh
was born 29 May 1810 in Ross County, OH. Christina Lytle was
born 13 Oct 1812 in Coshocton County, OH. From "Roots of the
RLDS in Southern Iowa", p.165; it states that the Lytle
children consisted of Ivan, John, Omar, James, Mary Jane
Winegar, and Charlotte Ann Crabb. Another daughter,
Christina, died early. The mother, Christina, died in 1865
while her husband was absent in the mission field. From the
church records, Christina died 3 Aug 1865.

Amy Anjean Chase

PARENTAGE: Amy Anjean, daughter of Amos and Sarah Chase.

OBITUARY: The Hustler, Fri 2 Apr 1926 p.2; Amy Anjean Chase,
daughter of Amos and Sarah Chase, was born near Little
Sioux, IA, 30 Oct 1850. Her parents arrived in Harrison
county in 1848. She was married 17 Nov 1864 to Charles
Vredenburgh. Thirteen children were born to them. The
husband and father died in Jan 1915. The surviving children
are Mrs. Almena Stearns of San Antonio, TX; Joseph
Vredenburgh, Alva, OK; Norman Vredenburgh, Miami, FL; James
Vredenburgh of Pisgah, IA; David of Lamoni, IA; Evan of
Lamoni, IA; Mrs. Lois Whisler of Rosalie, NE. Amos, Mark,
Ollie and May preceded the mother in death. Two brothers,
Aseph Chase of Cuba, NY and M. Amos Chase, a missionary in
Honolulu, and one sister, Mrs. W.S. Gamet of Logan, remain.
Also 24 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was
a member of the LDS church, was highly respected by all as a
neighbor, friend and mother. She passed beyond Fri 19th Mar
at the home of her son, David, in Lamoni, where she has been
several months during her last illness. The remains were
brought to Pisgah. The funeral service was held Mon 22 Mar
at one p.m., Elder Fry officiating. Interment was in Soldier
Valley cemetery. Mrs. Vredenburgh had lived all her years in
Little Sioux and Jackson township, this county, excepting
during the last few months of her illness.

Sarah Silsby

Sarah married Amos Scott Chase one month and 11 days after her sister Abigail died. Sarah married John D. Martin in a civil marriages in Nauvoo. The officiator was Abel Lamb.


Hugh Lytle

CHURCH AFFILIATION: Hugh Lytle joined the LDS Church, he was
baptized a member of the RLDS Church on 3 March 1861 at Belvidere,
Monona, Iowa, by John McIntosh. He was confirmed by John A. McIntosh
and Cornelius McIntosh. He was appointed to serve a mission by the General
Conference of 1863.
