Washington (now Warren) Co., NY (Smith's History of
Warren Co., p. 409). Benjamin is found on the 1805assessment roll of Queensbury and in 1810 and 1820
censuses. In 1830 he is at Savannah, Wayne County.He had a tavern stand and store on the SE
corner of the Oneida, Queensbury, ever after a
commercial site and today the location of Bardin's
general store Route 9L and E. Sunnyside Rd. He and Anna
mortgaged this property to Murry Jenkins in 1814
(Warren Mtg. A:164) the same year he was named
administrator of Solomon Austin's estate. By 1816, the
tavern lot was owned by Doctor Ripley. Benjamin became
insolvent in 1821.The best account of the parents and siblings of
Benjamin is a typescript "Record of Four Generations of
the Descendants of Capt. Robt. Seeley" compiled by
Willard S. Morse, in the CT State Library in Hartford.

This age is very difficult to interpret. It could be 21 or 27 or 21 or 37. 21 seems unlikely since her first child would have been born when Melissa was only 11. However, she may have been a stepmother to John’s child(ren) by another wife. OBITUARY: Onawa Democrat, 26 Apr 1973; Rex D.
Vredenburgh of Moorhead passed away on 14 Apr 1973. He
had reached the age of 78 years, 8 months and 2 days.
He was born on 12 Aug 1894, at Little Sioux, IA, the
son of George and Emma Vredenburgh. On 15 Dec 1915, he
was united in marriage to Elsie Magnet at Moorhead. He
had lived in the Moorhead area all his married life and
worked as a farmer until retiring ten years ago. He was
a member of RLDS. Survivors include his wife, Elsie, of
Moorhead; one son, Dale of Moorhead; one half brother,
Dean Mann of Woodbine; three grandchildren and five
great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his
parents, one sister, 4 step brothers, and 1 step
sister. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tues 17 Apr1973, at the Moorhead Christian Church at Moorhead, IA
with Elder Wilbur Mann officiating. Interment was in
the Spring Valley Cemetery at Moorhead with
arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa, IA.
OBITUARY: paper unknown; 7 Mar 1974; Elsie Mae
Vredenburgh, a lifetime resident of the Moorhead, IA
community, passed away at Burgess Memorial Hospital at
Onawa, IA on 19 Feb 1974 after a brief illness. She had
reached the age of 80 years, 4 months and 14 days. She
was born at Moorhead on 5 Oct 1893, the daughter of
Charles and Bertha Harvey Magnet. On 15 Dec 1915, she
was united in marriage to Rex D. Vredenburgh at
Moorhead. He preceded her in death on 14 Apr 1973.
Elsie was a member of the Moorhead Christian Church.
Survivors include her one son, Dale Vredenburgh of
Moorhead and one sister, Opal Magnet of Missouri
Valley, IA; there are three grandchildren and five
great grandchildren, a niece and nephew, and other
relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband,
three sisters, and two brothers who died in infancy,
and two adult sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Alice) Christianson
and Mrs. Earl (Lois) Wax. Services were held at 1:30
p.m. Fri 22 Feb 1974 at the Christian Church in
Moorhead with Rev. M. Dwight Walker officiating.
Interment was in the Spring Valley Cemetery at Moorhead
with arrangements by the Pearson Funeral Home of Onawa.
