OBITUARY: Onawa Democrat, 10 Apr 1986; Funeral services
were held at the Schumacher Funeral Home in Logan, Sat
afternoon, for Irvin H. Vredenburgh. He passed away at
Missouri Valley, Wed 12 Mar. He was born 23 Sep 1919,
at Pisgah, to Jesse Seeley Vredenburgh and Maude E.
Russell Vredenburgh, the second son and their of four
children. His parents, older brother, Orlin, and
younger brother, Elvin, preceded him in death. A
sister, Olive survives. He had married Marian
Buckberger in Oct of 1963 and was widowed in Jul of
1965. He was a farmer on the family farm at Pisgah for
the majority of his lifetime. He had resided in the
Blencoe-Onawa area from 1963 to 1965, later working and
living in Council Bluffs for a number of years. He made
his home at Logan in the early 1970s. He had served in
World War II in the Army Air Corps in the
India-Burma-China area as a military policeman. He was
a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles at
Onawa and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. in Logan
and the American Legion Post No. 408 in Pisgah.
Surviving are his loving friend and companion, Roberta
Yocom, her son, Robert Yocom, a niece, Maxine Hagar of
Woodburn, Oregon, and cousins.
