OBITUARY: The Saints' Herald, Vol 36 p.303; Almena
Vredenburgh died 30 Aug 1889 at the home of her son,
William Vredenburgh, in Soldier Valley, IA, and was
buried 1 Sep. Funeral service was held at the house,
Elder Putney officiating. Sr. Vredenburgh was born 3
Feb 1808 in Queensbury, Washington, NY, and was married
to Henry Vredenburgh in 1825. She was mother of eleven
children, seven girls and four boys; the eldest and two
youngest have passed away; two have their homes in IL,
three in Iowa, one in NE, one in CO and one in OR. Mrs.
Vredenburgh moved with her family from NY in IL in
1843, and from IL into IA in 1862, and has since been a
resident of Little Sioux, IA until her death. She
joined the LDS in 1835, and the Reorganization of the
same in 1861. She was first baptized by Hyrum Station,
and second by Zenos Gurley, Sen. Sr. Vredenburg was
known as a quiet, worthy and religious member of
society. She had been a widow some twenty years. She
died strong in the faith.

p.169; united with the Reorganization at Amboy, IL.
Their children were Charlotte, Lucinda, Mary, Charles,
Elias, Anna, Eleanor, Ruth, Caroline, William, and
Elizah (Elijah).

OBITUARY: The Hustler, 13 Jan 1928 p.1; Olive May
Woodward, daughter of Lewis and Sarah Ann Woodward was
born 17 Feb 1871 at Emerson, Mills, IA, and died at her
home in Pisgah, 6 Jan 1928. She came with her parents
to Monona county and lived on the old homestead until 2
Apr 1894 when she was united in marriage with John H.
Vredenburgh of Pisgah, IA. To this union were born two
sons, William LeRoy and Emery Glen, both of Pisgah.
Besides her husband and children she leaves to mourn
three brothers and two sisters: Eva Jenks, Edwin, Frank
and Charles Woodward and Pearl Wiltse, all of Pisgah
except Edwin who lives near Moorhead, IA. Two
grandchildren: Kenneth Frances and Donald Allen
Vredenburgh of Pisgah. Besides these are many other
relatives and a host of friends mourn her departure.
She united with the Latter Day Saints Church, 27 Sep
1896 and continued that membership until her death. She
was also a member of the Rebecca Lodge and always found
a willing worker. Funeral services were held at the LDS
Church of Pisgah at 1:30 p.m. 8 Jan 1928. Sermon by
Elder George Meggers, Joseph Lane in charge. The
remains were laid to rest in the Little Sioux Cemetery
there to remain until the Resurrection Morn.

OBITUARY: The Hustler, Fri 25 Jul 1930 p.1; Sherman A.
Clark, youngest son of Sylvester and Margaret Clark was
born 2 Oct 1865 in Missouri. He departed this life 18
Jul 1930 at 1:30 a.m. at his home in Pisgah, after a
serious illness of four weeks, ages 65 years, 9 months
and 16 days. 28 Sep 1887 he was united in marriage to
Lennie Vredenburgh, and they had spent the last twenty
nine years of his life in Pisgah. To this union three
children were born, Farrell Clark of Shoshone, ID, Mrs.
Herbert Rose of Coleridge, NE, and Mrs. Chris Peterson
of Pisgah. He united with the LDS Church in earlymanhood, to which he remained a faithful member. He was
a good neighbor and friend at all times and was
respected and liked by all who knew him. He leaves to
mourn his loss, his wife, three children, ten
grandchildren and one great grandchild, one brother,
George Clark of Pisgah, many other relatives and a host
of friends. Funeral services were held at the LDS
Church Sun at 10 a.m. conducted by Elder George Meggers
with interment at Soldier Valley cemetery.
